Stopped by this cozy slice of heaven on my way to Torrington. What a pleasant surprise. The staff was friend and nice. The host give great recommendations to try for my meal on my request, then deferred me to my Waiter. The Waiter did a fantastic job in making my choices so much more difficult with his favorite dishes. I ended up with the crab cakes as my starter and my meal was a broil salmon, carmalize brown sugar pecan topping over sweet potato mash and sauteed veggies.
Saybrook Fish House never disappoints! The food, service and atmosphere are top-notch. The seafood is always fresh and well-cooked, and the servers friendly and attentive.
Lunch with my aunt, we both totally enjoyed our meals! Fried whole bellies were perfection ????I would go back again!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I was glad I did. A little jewel tucked away in the CT back country. I had a simple fish chowder, which was incredibly savory and delicious followed by a fish sandwich served on a toasted bun. Excellent! All presided over by a very affable gentleman at the bar-highly recommended!
Way beyond my expectations. The seafood, sides, and salad were excellent. The service was perfect. Prices very reasonable for substantial portions. All the wines by the glass were fairly priced. Wonderful experience all around. Keep up the good work!
Food is always great! Be aware...not diet food. Rich, delucious sauces on many items. They are busy for a reason. Been going here for 25+ years!
The Saybrook Fish House was on our radar since we moved back to the area, and it was such a fantastic experience!! The crab cakes to start were delicious with a wonderful crispy exterior much more crunch than normal and it was great and served with an awesome spicy aioli. The fried clam strips are so simple but so well done thanks to their amazing seasoning, and the house made tartar sauce was delicious. Great patio! Lane, our server, was a true professional and so friendly!! Highly recommend!!
Really love this place- on outskirts of town but great quality and service. Rustic/fish atmosphere like on a boat and very fast service. Extreme large portion sizes as we started off with garlic shrimp and Cole slaw, a shared salad (huge!!!), bread, and then finally our entrees. I buoyed salmon, seafood soup, and calamari. Really loved all of it as seafood was fresh and good quality. Defs recommend for seafood lovers as good price and really good
We came back again! Love it here! As always we were so impressed with the food and staff! You honestly. Ang find better wait staff in the state! Also my salmon special w a peach topping was incredible. Lovely patio! Stephanie was awesome as usual!
